Philosophy of Consciousness

In this article, the author gives definitions of such notions as consciousness, sub-consciousness, being and entity for any biological or non-biological objects. He also considers these notions in relation to computer systems. Different approaches to objective estimation of various objects’ consciousnesses are also suggested. Besides, the writer offers the way to determine the exact point when a conscious object turns into a being or an entity.

1. INTRODUCTION

Disputes over the interpretation of such notions as consciousness, subconsciousness and a being have been taking place throughout the history of the so-called modern humankind and provoke people’s interest up to this day. Nowadays these debates have reached their climax.

Scientists from various research centers actively develop different structures (e.g. devices, robots, mechanisms, and so on), which, as they claim, possess artificial intelligence.

So, now – like never before – there is a need to formulate unified terminology and related nomenclature, which will be used within various areas of research, such as artificial intelligence, robotics, biocybernetics, computer systems, etc. It will help modern researchers to find a common language, which, in its turn, will contribute toward development of the technologies that will benefit the whole humankind.

I think that the future of the modern humankind is tightly intertwined with answers to such questions as “What are consciousness and subconsciousness?”, “What is a Being?”

This paper is devoted to finding answers to these questions.

2. PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

“There is a conceptual gap between science, which stands for objective measurement and the conclusions we can draw thereby, and consciousness, which is a synonym for subjective experience. We obviously cannot simply ask an entity in question, “Are you conscious?” If we look inside its “head,” biological or otherwise, to ascertain that, then we would have to make philosophical assumptions in determining what it is that we are looking for. The question as to whether or not an entity is conscious is therefore not a scientific one. Based on this, some observers go on to question whether consciousness itself has any basis in reality.” [1] Ray Kurzweil

“Proposals have been regularly presented that purport to be scientific theories linking consciousness to some measurable physical attribute — what Searle refers to as the “mechanism for causing consciousness.” [1] Ray Kurzweil

 “As British psychologist and writer Stuart Sutherland (1927–1998) wrote in the International Dictionary of Psychology, “Consciousness is a fascinating but elusive phenomenon; it is impossible to specify what it is, what it does, or why it evolved.” [1] Ray Kurzweil

The hypothesis about possible ways of information storage technologies development — “cloudy”, “foggy”, “foggy-spatial” and “spatial”

Some time ago, Volume XIX “Memory” of the “New Cosmic Philosophy” series was put on the Web.  The author described the cosmic (spatial) data storage device in the most general terms for the first time.  This description caused a lot of criticism. That is why I continue this topic in order to explain in more detail both the philosophical and the most general technological principles of the “information core” Nikola Tesla wrote about. There is all consciousness of the modern humanity on this core i.e. the whole information all Personalities systematized during their life cycles.

“My brain is only a receiver, in the Universe there is a core from which we obtain knowledge, strength and inspiration. I have not penetrated into the secrets of this core, but I know that it exists.”
   “Visions of the Future” Nikola Tesla

Recently, the concept of “foggy” information storages was published in the networks. They will replace soon the cloud storages. The original article was published on March 16, 2017 under the title «Computing: Is fog more secure than cloud?»:

«Computer scientists in Italy are working on a new concept for remote and distributed storage of documents that could have all the benefits of cloud computing but without the security issues of putting one’s sensitive documents on a single remote server. They describe details in the International Journal of Electronic Security and Digital Forensics.

According to Rosario Culmone and Maria Concetta De Vivo of the University of Camerino, technological and regulatory aspects of cloud computing offer both opportunity and risk. Having one’s files hosted on remote servers displaces the hardware requirements and makes files accessible to remote users more efficiently. However, there are gaps in security and accessibility of files “in the cloud.” The team has now turned to another meteorological metaphor — fog — and has proposed an alternative to cloud storage that makes any given file entirely immaterial rather than locating it on a single server. They envisage a fog of files rather than a cloud.

The files are distributed on a public or private network and so have no single location, in this way, there is no single server that would be a target for hackers and so only legitimate users can access them. The researchers point out that, “The trend towards outsourcing of services and data on cloud architectures has triggered a number of legal questions on how to manage jurisdiction and who has jurisdiction over data and services in the event of illegal actions.” Fog computing would essentially circumvent the security and legal problems putting files off-limits to hackers and beyond the reach of law enforcement and in particular rogue authorities.

“Our proposal is based on this idea of a service which renders information completely immaterial in the sense that for a given period of time there is no place on earth that contains information complete in its entirety,” the team says. They explain that the solution is based on a distributed service which we will call “fog” and which uses standard networking protocols in an unconventional way, exploiting “virtual buffers” in internet routers to endlessly relocate data packets without a file ever residing in its entirety on a single computer server. It’s as if you were to send a letter with a tracking device but an incomplete address that simply gets sent from post office to post office and is never delivered.

What does this article excite my curiosity by? The main reason is that it helps us to understand functioning of the “core” Nikola Tesla wrote about.

The future development of information storage technologies by the mankind can be presented as follows:

  • Step № 1 – “Cloudy” storages (data storage devices);
  • Step №2 – “Foggy” storages (data storage devices);
  • Step №3 – “Foggy-Spatial” storages (data storage devices);
  • Step №4 – “Spatial” storages (data storage devices).

“Cloudy” data storages are based on the use of many material data storage devices that are distributed over the surface of the Earth planet and are connected to each other by the Internet.

I described the conception of “foggy” data storage (data storage device) above.

The “Foggy-Spatial” storage (data storage device) differs from the “foggy” storage (data storage device) by only two main parameters that are 100% coverage of the Earth planet by a high-speed network and a high speed of information transfer through the network. Considering this, we can confirm the following:

  • “Foggy-Spatial” storage (data storage device) will function in accordance with the Laws of Classical Physics.
  • One cannot establish a certain storage location of a certain information in the network;
  • Any information stores at every point of the network almost simultaneously (the speed of data transmission through this network cannot exceed the speed of visible light in vacuum, i.e. 299,792,458 m / s, but due to the limited size of the Earth planet, one can barely use here the term “simultaneously”);

The “Cosmic” (Spatial) storage (data storage device) differs from the “Foggy-Spatial” storage by the future use of not modern real media for data recording but intranuclear structures of “elementary” particles. It will lead to the occurrence of “superluminal” speeds of information transfer exceeding 299,792,458 m / s that allow to confirm the following:

  • “Cosmic” (Spatial) storage (data storage device) will function in accordance with the Laws of Quantum Physics;
  • One cannot establish a certain location of a certain information storage in the 4-dimensional space of “our” World; i.e. one cannot describe the storage by 4 parameters of the space-time continuum;
  • Any information stores at each point of “our” 4-dimensional space;
  •  Access to information is technologically possible only for those who created it or those who have the right to do it.

“Foggy” storages are the first steps to understanding the general principles of the “Cosmic” (Spatial) data storage functioning.

“BALL-A-BALL” hardware-software complex

When I published “Our Thoughts Determine Our Destiny” article in my web blog, some inquisitive readers felt interest in such questions as the following:

  • Where do we get our “flows of thoughts” from?
  • Who creates “flows of thoughts”?
  • Who does constantly “babble” in our heads?
  • and so on.

 I realized that without answering these questions my further research would be difficult for readers understanding, so I devoted this chapter to Ball-a-ball analysis.

Based on the previously developed technologies, the author conducted several virtual experiments coming to interesting results:

The virtual experiment № 1.

The participants of this experiment are:

  • A meteorological station with its assistants a person observes;
  • A person who is near of this meteorological station;
  • A meteorological operator whose task is to answer the questions of this person.
  • A person asks a meteorological operator: “What will the weather be like in Kiev tomorrow?”.  – A meteorological operator replies: “The weather forecast in Kiev for tomorrow feels like: daytime temperature + 5, nighttime temperature + 1, moderate north east wind with a speed of 6 m/s and air humidity would be observed…”
  •  A person asks a meteorological operator: “Who is answering me?” and receives such an answer:  A meteorological operator …

The virtual experiment № 2.

The participants of this experiment are:

  • A meteorological station a person doesn’t observe;
  • A person who can be anywhere in the world;
  • The «SIRI» app (a voice assistant is a specially designed program with a defined level of artificial intellect. The Apple company developed it for their mobile devices such as iPhone). This app can control a voice of a person, give answers to his questions in one of the languages available for it. However, the answer will always contain terms and concepts understandable for a person).
  • The “Weather” app is a specially designed program with a defined level of artificial intellect. It can receive information from the weather stations anywhere in the world without having to contact their operators. When working, it is also able to use voice functions of the SIRI application).
  •  A person asks the SIRI app uploading into iPhone:   “What will the weather be like in Kiev tomorrow?”.  The «SIRI» app using its voice abilities and abilities of the Weather app, replies: “The weather forecast in Kiev for tomorrow feels like: daytime temperature + 5, nighttime temperature + 1, moderate north east wind with a speed of 6 m/s and air humidity would be observed…”
  •  A person asks a meteorological operator: “Who is answering me?” and receives such an answer: «SIRI». Continue reading

Philosophy of INCARNATION. Part #5. INCARNATION procedure. A Human Being and his “Self”

Thus, we take on writing of the long-awaited article that is devoted to the analysis of the most evasive part of a human being — his “Self”. Readers may conceive the information of this article like fantastic one. Therefore, it is strongly recommended for readers to follow the offered by the author materials in a strict sequence: from Part #1 to Part #5. It is all for a better understanding of this article information. It is with this sequence the author’s thoughts will be clear for readers and they could develop the full picture of the INCARNATION procedure.

The presented in the article materials give qualified radio engineers possibility to revise the author’s hypothesis and to confirm its veracity.

All information below is personal opinion of the author, i.e. point of view of the author’s PERSONALITY…

The author wrote more simply for readers better understanding of the information presented. He used all the terms in accordance with the notions that were mentioned in “The New Cosmic Philosophy” book series.

So, let’s get started.

The author published infographics of the installation process in his “Computer system and its ‘Self’” article. Any IT specialist says for sure that everything depicted there is “functional”, i.e. the part of depicted information is already “turned into reality” or can be “turned into reality” as soon as possible. Let’s try to transform a little bit this diagram by changing some of the devices for the new ones. In this case, the general view of the infographics and the general idea of the ENCARNATION procedure remain the same. Why it is so, the reader will find out at the end of the article.

And here is what we have:

Philosophy of INCARNATION. Part #4. INCARNATION procedure. Introduction to “our” “Selves”

“You look into the eyes of your interlocutor
and realize that this entity cannot brim with a smart look.
You see the flesh, but communicate with invisible spiritual entity.”

Yuri Larichev
“The Slavic Veda. The Hermetic Philosophy in a Readily Understandable Format. The Gospel for Myself.”

Let’s realize what we say:

  • My legs, my shoes …
  • My eyes, my binocular, my microscope …
  • My ears, my hearing kit …
  • Etc.

We say everything correctly!

“My” does not mean “Self”. “My”, on the contrary, means something separate from “Self”, from “MySelf”.

PEOPLE understand that a HUMAN BEING is not only his “dense” corporeal BODY, it’s still something outside it.

Numerous amputations of the body organs, as well as their prosthetics, mean the following:

“Self” of a human being does not occupy any particular part of his BODY.

“Self” of a human being is a part of his body.

Many years ago, Kirlian spouses discovered the lacking (ragged before) leaf fluorescence:

This proves the idea of information storage of this leaf, as if it were an integral object, even if a part of it is already damaged or non-existent. And the whole information about the object is stored in every part of it, even in the smallest one.

It is “Kirlian effect” sets in motion researchers’ minds who have begun to argue that this corona discharge is “the very same elusive biofield”.

It is the “appearing” of a human being “Self” in the BODY is associated with a process under the conventional “EMBODIMENT” name.
